Nigerian activist and socio-political commentator, Aisha Yesufu has boldly situated that she is not scared of losing her life while trying to bring leadership on track in giving Nigerians a better governance.
Addressing the disheartening rise in insecurity in the country amid the high cost of living in the country, Aisha Yesufu whilst responding to fears that her life could be taken from her she said that the only thing government can do to her is arrest her or assassinate her.
In a video, the ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ convener said;
The whole country is upside down and what you are bothered about is looking for people to go on people’s timeline. When they go low, I go lower. I deal with them, come up, shower, put on perfume so that they will know it is a choice not to be there.
For those asking me if I am not afraid to be killed. For what? The only thing government can do is either assassinate me or arrest me. Either one they do, they will give me a voice.”
A few months ago, Aisha Yesufu berated President Muhammadu Buhari over the way his administration is handling the upsurge of abductions in the country.
Speaking to Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Aisha Yesufu, when asked about her view on the assurance President Buhari gave Nigerians about the actions taken to rescue all those who have been abducted by Boko Haram hinted that Nigerians have lost confidence in the words of the president.
Captured in a report by Akahinewsng, Aisha Yesufu said;
“We are used to a president whose words mean nothing. He says one thing, and another thing happens,”.
Her comments comes on the back of reports of 317 female students who have been abducted at the Jangebe Government Girls Secondary.
